October is just around the corner and did you know that it is National Disability Employment Awareness Month?  However, a more accurate name might be National Awareness of Unique Abilities Month. Can you think of the last time you felt truly inspired?  With gas, food, and home prices reflecting the current state of our economy, it is often easy to become discouraged and focus only on the negative side of things. But if we really search carefully, we can find many positive things to encourage and inspire us.

LETMESAIL is planning an “Evening of Inspiration” at the College of the Canyons Performing Arts Center on Thursday October 2, 2008 at 7pm. It will feature a truly inspiring motivational speaker, Patrick Henry Hughes.   Patrick dares to dream and achieve the seemingly impossible, and challenges his audience to do the same. His presentation will astound you!  Patrick was born without eyes and without the ability to fully straighten his arms and legs making him unable to walk. He began playing the piano at 9 months and is a virtuoso musician and singer.  He participates in the University of Louisville Marching Band and is a straight A student!

A few of Patrick’s credits include being featured on ESPN, all the major television networks, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Oprah, The Ellen Show, People Magazine, and Sports Illustrated.   He has traveled the world bringing his powerful message of overcoming obstacles. Patrick once said, “God made me blind and didn’t give me the ability to walk. I mean, big deal.” This is Patrick’s philosophy of life, “I’m the kind of person that’s always going to fight until I win,” he said.
