Gary has an extensive background in education as a Physical Education teacher, coach, and School to Career coordinator. He also served Santa Clarita Valley Special Olympics (SCVSO) for 5 years as Co-Area Director.
President-Tom Hartmann
Tom is a parent of a LETMESAIL client. He works for Lockheed Martin as a Program Director. His background is in engineering.
Vice President-Dean Ogrin
Dean is a financial planner with Smith Barney. He has a passion for developing educational opportunities for disadvantaged individuals. Dean serves as the Chair of the Facilities Acquisition Committee.
Secretary-Suzanne Vanvakaris
Suzanne was instrumental in developing Santa Clarita Valley Special Olympics. As head of the Finance Committee and the Administrative Assistant for many years, Suzanne con be credited with the rapid growth and success of SCVSO. Suzanne is the Chair of the Social Events Committee.
Treasurer-Rosemary St.Cyr
Rosemary has been involved in non-profit organizations in the SCV for many years. She has been the treasurer for the Child and Family Center. Rosemary brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the important position of keeping the financial records.
Board Member-Lisa Golshani
Lisa is an attorney specializing in family estate planning. She will be able to advise on legal issues and develop programs for planned giving through family estates. Lisa is Chair of the Education Committee.
Board Member-Maureen Spindt
Maureen has extensive experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and served as Area Director of Santa Clarita Valley Special Olympics for seven years. She is a highly successful independent development specialist.
Board Member-Colbert Williams
Colbert is a LETMESAIL client with special needs. He lives independently in the SCV and is employed by Vons Markets.
Board Member-Rochelle Feldman, M.D.
Dr. Feldman is a local pediatrician specializing in treating children with disabilities. She has an extensive background as a researcher, presenter, and expert in the field. She joined the Board in August of 2006.
Board Member-Jackie Hartmann
Jackie and Tom are parents of Keri, one of our clients. Jackie is the Director of Human Resources for Maly's. Both Tom and Jackie are enthusiastic supporters of numerous non-profit organizations in Santa Clarita.
Board Member-John Shaffery
John has joined the Board as of January 2007. He is a partner in the prestigious law firm of Poole & Shaffery, LLP, Attorneys at Law. This law firm is a major supporter of LETMESAIL. John will lend his expertise in business and corporate fundraising.
Board Member-Russ Stacey
Russ is a parent of a client of LETMESAIL and brings that unique perspective to the Board. He works in the entertainment industry with NBC. Russ joins the Board as of June 5, 2007.
Board Member-Tina Haddad
Tina is the Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Santa Clarita. She has a keen interest in developing long range strategic plans for LETMESAIL. She also has an interest in developing job opportunities for our clients.
Board Member-Joan Major
Joan is a parent of one of the LETMESAIL clients and also teaches at an elementary school on the campus of U.C.L.A. She is very interested in developing independent living strategies for the clients of LETMESAIL. Joan joins the LMS Board as of November 6, 2007
Board Member-Dave Chase
Dave is a screen writer who has also worked at Crate & Barrel. He has also owned and operated a large raceway in New Jersey and has extensive experience in fundraising and event management. Dave joined the Board in June 2008.
Board Member-Roger Doumanian
Roger is the President and CEO of Fresh Element Innovative Marketing Concepts. He will lend his expertise in the area of marketing and publicity for LETMESAIL. Roger joined the Board in July 2008
Board Member-Ravi Patel
Ravi has a business called RVP CFO Services. He consults and advises small businesses about their financial matters, including accounting and CFO services. Ravi will lend his expertise in the area of finance to the growing financial demands of LETMESAIL. Ravi joined the Board in July 2008.
Official Spokesperson-Kathy Buckley
Kathy is a comedienne and entertainer. She is hearing impaired and has a keen interest in developing programs for the disabled. She has agreed to be our official spokesperson.
